Following the surgery, you will require a week of rest at home to ensure a complete recovery. Upon leaving the hospital, you will be outfitted with surgical dressings and a supportive surgical bra, which should be worn for approximately 6 weeks. It typically takes about 3 months for the implants to fully settle.

• Ensure you have a designated driver to take you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours after the surgery.
• Plan to take at least a week off from work.
• Minimise the use of your arms and chest – seek assistance when needed.
• Refrain from driving for a minimum of one week.
• Sleep on your back for at least a month following the surgery.
• Avoid exercise and strenuous activities for a month.
• Take daily, gentle showers.
• Keep the treated area out of direct sunlight for a year.

Implant replacement may be necessary if there are changes in the breasts over time, the patient elects to do so, capsular contracture occurs, or in the case of implant movement or rupture.
